Best edition of InterClassics Brussels to date

The fifth edition of InterClassics Brussels was the best edition to date for visitors, exhibitors and the organisers. Over the past three days, the classic-car exhibition was visited by almost 25,000 motivated buyers and enthusiasts. The exhibitors are particularly pleased with the quality of the visitors and the international character of the event. The main exhibition theme ‘Great Italian Designers’ paid tribute to the five most legendary car designers ever. Guests were treated to a visual presentation of a unique collection of classics designed by Pininfarina, Bertone, Zagato, Touring and Ghia, with a total of fifteen classic cars on display. In addition to the main theme, the 100th anniversary of Bentley was in the spotlight as the second theme. In cooperation with Bentley Belgium and Bentley Heritage UK, an exceptional collection of prized specimens from the 100-year history of the brand was presented.

New this year was the participation of Noble Auctions, which offered an extensive collection of classic cars, vintage motorcycles, pre-war race cars and ‘shed finds’ for sale. With price categories ranging from high to low, there was a car suitable for every purse. Various artists, galleries and art dealers displayed a very diverse offering of their best works in the Art Area, all of which naturally featured a classic-car theme. The Belgian Vintage Vehicles Association (BFOV), an organisation with over 50,000 members, was prominently present in the club section of the exhibition. Several vintage-vehicle clubs were represented at the BFOV Village, built just for the exhibition, where visitors could go to get answers to their questions on the classic cars. In the AutoScout24 Area, private individuals were given the opportunity to offer their classics for sale. Erik Panis, Manager of InterClassics: ‘Thanks to the international course we have set and will continue to develop in the future, we have more than earned our position as one of the major international classic car shows. I am proud to look back together with my team on what was once again another successful edition of InterClassics Brussels.’

‘InterClassics Brussels is the only classic-car event in Belgium with an international character. In just five years, the InterClassics organisation has ensured the return of a valuable classic-car exhibition to the European capital of Brussels, and attracted an international trading audience. Given the speed at which this event has grown, this can only mean great things for the future of InterClassics Brussels,’ according to Bernard Marreyt of Marreyt Classics.

Julian Messent - Historic Competition Services: ‘The exhibition gets better every year; not only the quality of the exhibitors but also that of the visitors steadily improves. For us, Sunday was the best day ever, of all the exhibitions we have ever participated in.’

Jo Peeters - Product Manager D'Ieteren Porsche Import: ‘Porsche’s heritage is very important to us considering 70% of all Porsches ever made are still on the road today. Despite the introduction by the government of several restrictions with regard to the market, we still saw a large number of visitors at this fifth edition of the event. This makes InterClassics Brussels a great standard-bearer for our classic-car segment when it comes to these many visitors.’

Axel Persoons - Noble Auctions: ‘We consider our first time participating in InterClassics Brussels to be a great success. This exhibition has provided us with many valuable contacts with international collectors and connoisseurs.’

The sixth edition of InterClassics Brussels will be held from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November 2020 at Brussels Expo. For further information on the exhibition, please visit www.interclassics.be.
